The business has established expertise across offshore wind and maintains exposure to onshore wind, solar, and emerging renewable energy technologies. With an expanding international investment platform, the organisation continues to pursue opportunities across new markets, strategic partnerships, and large-scale renewable energy investments.

The organisation is seeking a Deputy Director of Investments to support strategic investment activity, transaction execution, corporate development, and commercial partnerships across international offshore wind markets.

The Role
We are seeking a Deputy Director of Investments to support investment strategy, transaction execution, and market expansion initiatives across international offshore wind markets.

This is a senior investment role suited to an experienced investment professional with a strong track record across offshore wind, renewable energy, infrastructure investment, M&A, corporate development, or project finance.

The successful candidate will work closely with senior leadership to evaluate and execute investment opportunities, develop strategic partnerships, and support the organisation’s wider international growth strategy.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Investment & Transaction Execution

• Support the development and execution of investment strategies across offshore wind and wider renewable energy infrastructure opportunities
• Lead and contribute to the evaluation, structuring, and execution of investments, joint ventures, partnerships, and M&A transactions
• Manage key workstreams throughout the transaction lifecycle, coordinating with legal, technical, financial, and commercial advisers
• Conduct investment analysis and prepare investment papers, recommendations, and materials for senior leadership and investment committees
• Support senior leadership through negotiations and transaction execution

• Undertake detailed financial, commercial, and strategic analysis of investment opportunities
• Build, review, and challenge financial models to assess project economics, investment returns, and valuation
• Support financial, technical, and commercial due diligence processes
• Evaluate investment risks, returns, and strategic fit
• Develop robust investment cases and recommendations for senior stakeholders

• Identify and assess new investment opportunities across European and international offshore wind markets
• Monitor market developments, investment trends, regulatory changes, and competitive dynamics
• Identify potential market entry opportunities, partnerships, and strategic investments
• Support senior leadership in developing the organisation’s international investment strategy
• Develop a strong understanding of emerging opportunities across offshore wind and adjacent renewable energy markets

• Develop and maintain relationships with offshore wind developers, utilities, investors, infrastructure funds, advisers, and other industry stakeholders
• Work closely with senior investment and corporate leadership on strategic initiatives
• Support partnership discussions, commercial negotiations, and investment processes
• Represent the organisation externally where appropriate
• Build strong relationships across technical, commercial, financial, and investment teams

• Significant professional experience within offshore wind, renewable energy, infrastructure investment, M&A, corporate development, transaction advisory, or project finance
• Strong experience within the offshore wind sector
• Proven experience evaluating and executing renewable energy or infrastructure transactions
• Strong financial modelling and investment appraisal capabilities
• Experience supporting or leading transaction execution and investment processes
• Strong understanding of renewable energy investment markets, particularly across Europe
• Experience working on complex, multi-stakeholder transactions
• Strong commercial judgement and understanding of the strategic drivers behind investment decisions
• Experience working within an international or cross-border environment
• Degree qualified in Finance, Economics, Engineering, Business, or a related discipline
• Strong English communication skills

• Previous Big Four advisory experience, particularly within Deals, Infrastructure Advisory, Transaction Services, or Corporate Finance
• Experience within an investment fund, infrastructure investor, developer, utility, or major renewable energy platform
• Experience across large-scale offshore wind or infrastructure transactions
• Mandarin language skills
• MBA, CFA, or equivalent professional qualification
• Experience across multiple international offshore wind markets
• Exposure to corporate development, strategic partnerships, or market entry initiatives

• Strong commercial and investment judgement
• Analytical and highly numerate, with the ability to translate complex analysis into clear recommendations
• Credible and confident when engaging with senior stakeholders
• Strong communication, negotiation, and influencing skills
• Comfortable working across technical, commercial, financial, and investment disciplines
• International mindset with the ability to operate effectively across different cultures and markets
• Proactive and self-driven, with a strong sense of ownership
• Able to manage multiple complex workstreams and transactions simultaneously
• Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial, and evolving global organisation
• Ambitious, collaborative, and capable of progressing towards broader investment leadership responsibilities over time
